- This is New Albion on Mars
- 00:36
- Conserved animal and plant life at
- New Albion from sub-tropical and
- 00:41
- tropical zones on Earth are
- accommodated in warmer Ways.
- 00:46
- Early attempts at such conservation relied
- on Compartments whose temperatures were
- 00:52
- substantially different from
- that of their neighbours.
- 00:56
- This was difficult and
- expensive to maintain.
- 01:01
- As more Ways were built at New Albion we
- were able to more efficiently maintain
- 01:07
- whole Ways at elevated temperatures.
- 01:12
- New Albion's tropical and sub-tropical Ways
- 01:15
- are dedicated almost entirely for
- conservation and farming.
- 01:21
- In them you will find, among other crops,
- taro and rice in paddies, rubber,
- 01:27
- sugar cane, cotton, fruit such as dragon
- fruit and mango, nuts, tea, and coffee.
- 01:34
- Animal life in these regions is also from
- tropical and sub-tropical regions of
- 01:39
- Earth, but limited mostly to insects, and
- smaller birds and amphibians.
- 01:46
- Our hotter ways have little to no residential
- units - workers must commute.
- 01:53
- Imagine: tropical work all day,
- nice cool bed at night!
