Emergency Drills

We can't guarantee emergencies won't happen, but we can be ready for them.

This is New Albion on Mars
00:36
New Albion is vitally dependent
on what is practically a
00:40
very small volume of life-sustaining air.
00:45
Envelope (also called 'hull') breaches or
atmospheric contamination would very quickly
00:51
lead to casualties at New Albion, so we
train to mitigate these risks.
00:57
Very basic training must be done frequently
by all colonists as a Community Service task.
01:06
Basic fire, air pollution, and breach response
training activities are done at least monthly.
01:14
These are usually very brief seminar-style events.
01:19
Once every 3 months an entire Way conducts
01:23
a full-scale fire, air-pollution, or
hull-breach exercise.
01:28
The exercise is preceded by training,
watched online by neighbouring Ways, and
01:34
is followed by a discussion review.
01:37
The after-party is usually quite popular.
01:42
We take the business of ensuring
community safety very seriously, but
01:46
have fun at the same time.
