- This is New Albion on Mars
- 00:37
- New Albion is expanding.
- The 'edge of town' looks just like the rest of
- 00:43
- the colony, except rush hour seems
- much busier than the rest of the working day.
- 00:50
- Early in the morning, construction workers
- travel to the outer-most inhabited Way.
- 00:56
- There, they pass through service ducts into
- a newly commissioned but otherwise empty Way.
- 01:03
- Construction material and equipment is moved in
- through industrial compartments.
- 01:10
- Through the working day, the new compartments
- are slowly transformed into new real estate.
- 01:17
- They will become new
- conurbations, light industrial areas, farms,
- 01:21
- and conservation areas.
- 01:25
- Street food and refreshment vendors are
- also present during the day.
- 01:30
- As work nears completion, evening tours are
- arranged for prospective
- 01:36
- inhabitants of newly-finished compartments.
- 01:40
- Our building constraints dictate that new Ways are
- very similar to existing ones,
- 01:46
- but there's no shortage of people keen to move.
- 01:52
- You just can't beat that 'new Compartment smell'!
- 01:58
- [Dissonant clashing orchestral music]
- [Gustav Holst: Mars, the Bringer of War]
- 02:16
- [orchestral music continues]
